Just once, I would like to turn on So You Think You Can Dance and not feel the urge to scream “What the fuck is Cat Deeley wearing?”
I’m seriously beginning to think that the she loses a weekly bet with the wardrobe department.
Did anyone else notice the two guard guys get cut on So You Think You Can Dance? The first was a sabre during the second week of auditions, the second was a flag on last night’s Vegas Week episode.
Neither one of them was actually featured on the show; something I find kind of odd considering how Mia Michaels has been attending WGI and teaching a WGI master class for a few years now. You would think that she would pull some strings with the producers and let some guardies showcase their talents.
But no, it’s like guard is the red-headed stepchild of the dance world. Or in Mia’s case, it’s the fat chick she’s having sex with but doesn’t want anyone to find out about.
I’ve had a love-hate (mostly hate) thing for Mia since she first started judging/choreographing the show. She’s really off to a rocky start for me this season and I think the only way she’ll redeem herself is if she somehow manages to get some guard folk to perform during finals week. I figure: if Debbie Allen can get an African folk dancer up there, Ms. Michaels can call in a favor and put some flags, sabres, and rifles up on national TV.
FOX, if you insist on keeping Mary Murphy on the judges panel for So You Think You Can Dance, can you at least do me the favor of turning her mic off during the initial auditions? Some of the dancing is bad enough without her cackling layered over it. kthx.
