Date Taken: 2000/2001 Notes: I’m not sure how this happened. I know that this was taken at the same place—The Bachelor Pad—where I stuffed myself into a pizza delivery bag. I also know that The Bachelor Pad was a magical, unsupervised place where dreams came true. Maybe, on that particular night, my dream was to be carried around on a wooden rod like a hogtied animal.
I wanted to wait for Time Machine Tuesday, but I could wait. Sorry Marcela, but the next time I go home, I’ll stock up.
My cousin posted this in an attempt to embarass me, but it really only works on my uncle.
My brother is on the left, I’m next to him, and my cousins are the other two. I guess I was maybe 5 here? Making my brother 2 or 3? I have no idea. But those matching neon shirt-shorts outfits I had were awesome. And that’s my uncle Tim. I’m actually envious of his gorgeous legs… (he’s probably my age there… weird)
Date taken: early ’90s Notes: I’m 99.9% sure that this is the party where Nelson de la Rosa showed up in a Superman suit and danced around for us kids. Perhaps that’s why I look out-of-my-mind happy. I know I have a picture of him with my aunt and if I find it, I may post it here for another edition of TMT.
Edit: As my mom pointed out, my memory has failed me. This picture (as the helpful timestamp suggests) was taken January 3, 1990 when we were living in Uruguay. Still, I’m totally posting the Nelson de la Rosa picture when I find it.
Date Taken: 1993ish Age: roughly 11 Notes: Yes, I’m naked, but my old cat Mayday is doing a good job of covering up the skeeter bites. There are just so many awesome things about this photo:
The look on my face.
The corded phone!
The fact that whoever was on the other line was so important I didn’t even get dressed after my shower to answer the call.
Mayday was a raging bitch, so any picture where she’s being held, let alone kissed (by an equally naked, but modestly toweled Daniela) is a treasure to behold.
Date taken: December 25, 1985 Age: 3 Notes: This was my little sis’s first Christmas (she was just over one month old at this point), and thus my last big score before I had to start with the whole “sharing” thing. And what a score it was: Alphie II, Glo Worm, Talk ‘N Play, a Care Bear book, a Hello Kitty lunchbox and various other “growing up 80s” paraphernalia. Not pictured: sister.
