Marcela channeling Margeeka

or you could try something random.

These are a few of my favorite things.

I see you're interested in my obsession with angst. Perhaps you'd like to subscribe to that tag's feed?

Bon Jovi - Always

This is the song my Lyrical dance class is doing for recital.

We started learning our dance last week and as soon as our instructor turned on the music, I thought I was going to die. “This song has my heart,” I said melodramatically to my dance buddy Rachel. She laughed, probably thinking that I was being sarcastic, and asked “You like this song?”

“I love it. Somewhere, a 12 year old Marcela just pissed her pants with excitement.”

The problem with performing to a song that you love, is that you eventually grow to hate it because you have to listen to it—often times small parts of it—over and over and over again. But I have a good feeling about my love for this song; if it was able to survive middle school, it can survive recital.

It’s getting to be that time of year where I expect new episodes of The L Word

avocadosalad:

What’s happening with The Planet regulars? Have Bette and Tina split, made up, split, and made up again…again? Did Shane try and get Molly back? Are Tasha and Alice still together or did Dana return from the dead and now she and Alice can role play for the rest of their lives. Will Kit ever get to say anything better than “Baby girl”? I just want to know!

Feeling you so hard right now.

Does this need a caption?
Whatever, it’s not like you’d get it anyway; it’s complicated.
GET OUT OF MY ROOOOOM!!!

New mahnrubob vid.

I’m actually going to be in Staten Island, NY when Bo Burnham does his show at the Highline Ballroom in NYC this Friday night. Kinda makes burn-the-house-down mad knowing that I’ll be so close yet so far away.

Avocado Salad (aka one of my Tumblr Crushes) started following me today. I got way too excited when I found out.
Apropos of nothing, has anyone had any luck in finding that word I was looking for a while back?

Circa-1997-Marcela used to record mix tapes off of the local college station. This was one of her favorite catches.

Before you, Bella, my life was like a moonless night. Very dark, but there were stars, points of light and reason. ….And then you shot across my sky like a meteor. Suddenly everything was on fire; there was brilliancy, there was beauty. When you were gone, when the meteor had fallen over the horizon, everything went black. Nothing had changed, but my eyes were blinded by the light. I couldn’t see the stars anymore. And there was no more reason for anything.

Edward Cullen (via fuckkyeahtwilightsaga)

I once told one of my more literarily-inclined friends that I considered Twilight to be this generation’s Romeo and Juliet. Obviously, this was an exaggerated and offensive statement. Comparing Meyer to Shakespeare is just impossible; they are leagues apart.

Still, read this and tell me that you don’t feel the same desperation, angst, and longing. So maybe I wasn’t so out-of-line in my comparison.

Also, hot vampires. I rest my case.

If you feel the same way that I do, drag the link below to your bookmarks bar and click it whenever your dashboard is bumming you out.
I’m ok, you’re ok
EDIT: It looks like the dashboard strips out javascript found in links, so if you actually wanted to use my new bookmarklet, you’ll have to click-through to the actual post.
