Better than the original.
These are a few of my favorite things.
I see you're interested in my obsession with hate it - hate me. Perhaps you'd like to subscribe to that tag's feed?

Metric - “The Police and the Private”
Lord lord mother we are all losing love
Lord listen lover we are all missing mama
This is the song my Lyrical dance class is doing for recital.
We started learning our dance last week and as soon as our instructor turned on the music, I thought I was going to die. “This song has my heart,” I said melodramatically to my dance buddy Rachel. She laughed, probably thinking that I was being sarcastic, and asked “You like this song?”
“I love it. Somewhere, a 12 year old Marcela just pissed her pants with excitement.”
The problem with performing to a song that you love, is that you eventually grow to hate it because you have to listen to it—often times small parts of it—over and over and over again. But I have a good feeling about my love for this song; if it was able to survive middle school, it can survive recital.

I very nearly reblogged this post without even listening to it first. Because, c’mon… it’s Passion Pit and my favorite Chairlift song.
But you can’t take the coding out of the girl.
Dusting off my tech writing skills to write up a readme document for my latest project. I keep wanting to end my sentences with semicolons.

Finally catching up on my CopyCats backlog. I’ve heard this cover before, but it was definitely a nice surprise to hear it again on this slow-moving Thursday.
The Fratellis - “For the Girl”
These guys are easily one of my favorite bands at the moment.
She was getting me pills when
I was into her best friend
She was chasing the thrills
And living down at the West End
She was pretty in braces
I lived out of her window
She said “take me to London”
Tell me something I don’t know
Empty in Between- Tegan & Sara
I cannot tell a lie. On occasion, I’ve played this song 10 times in a row.
Eisley - “Come Clean”
This song makes me want to twirl around and around while tears of joy stream down my face.
Must be the mandolin.
